OUR PROGRAMS

EMERGENCY AID

We meet the urgent needs of individuals who require assistance with food, utilities, rent, medical care, transportation and other services during times of extreme financial hardship. This often prevents families from becoming homeless, going hungry, or resorting to criminal behavior in order to make ends meet.

Our two food pantries, located in our Eastern Shore and South Baldwin offices, are primarily non-perishable items stocked by local churches, schools, and individuals. EMI also partners with local farmers, grocers, and restaurants to provide fresh produce, fruit and baked items through our Gleaning program.

HOME REPAIR

Through the hard work of volunteers, contractors and partnerships with other local organizations, we provide assistance to low-income, elderly, or handicapped homeowners who need necessary repairs to save the life of their home. Repairs can include roofing, flooring, plumbing, wheelchair ramp construction and other necessary repairs. We established the Repair Baldwin Program in 2013 to address the critical repair needs of all areas of Baldwin County.

Meals on Wheels

This program seeks to aid elderly and disabled neighbors who are physically limited or unable to prepare nutritious meals. Hot meals are prepared and delivered 5 days a week, which means this program is in constant need of regular volunteer support. This service is currently limited to the Daphne, Spanish Fort, Fairhope, and Foley areas.

Prescription Assistance

This vital program helps the elderly, the uninsured, and the under-insured secure life-saving medications at no cost. Dedicated volunteers help clients locate services and complete the necessary paperwork. To achieve this, EMI partners with participating pharmaceutical care programs including Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy in Mobile.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT II*

When invited, our staff trains leaders in church-based organizationsto help their communities address practical problems, such as escalating homeowner’s insurance, drugs in schools, paving dirt roads, building sidewalks, eradicating public blight and many other issues. *All Churches Together
